Gölyazı
Gölyazı is a small lakeside settlement near Bursa, built on a peninsula extending into Lake Uluabat and surrounded by water, wetlands and open countryside.
Gölyazı is located on a small peninsula on Lake Uluabat, west of Bursa. Its unusual geography is one of the settlement’s defining characteristics, with water surrounding much of the historic center.
Traditional houses and narrow streets occupy the peninsula, while the lake forms a constantly visible backdrop. Small boats, wetlands and open water contribute strongly to the character of the landscape.
The surrounding area is rich in natural scenery, including reeds, agricultural land and low hills. Seasonal changes in the lake and vegetation create different views throughout the year.
Gölyazı’s combination of village architecture and lakeside geography gives it a distinctive identity among the smaller settlements of the Marmara region.
